Additives for cementitious grout that offer stain resistance are becoming more popular. Cement grout lines are highly porous even when completely dry, which makes them vulnerable to dirt. Furthermore, applying a sealer on grout lines can be an irritating job. PROFIX has developed OCTANE 2.0 additives which replaces the water normally used to prepare cement grout. This additive adds absorption resistance to your grout lines and, therefore resistance to dirt and stains.

Warning: OCTANE 2.0 additives accelerate drying time and shorten pot life. We suggest you work on small areas at a time. This type of product does not provide chemical resistance, unlike epoxy grout. A curing period of 10 days is necessary to acquire its stain resistant properties. Once the grout is installed, be sure to protect it for 10 days against any contact with water, soap, dirt, or other substances. Do not use with a urethane-based grout, epoxy grout, or any grout having stain-resistant properties.
