What products does Protherm offer?
The Protherm floor heating system requires several products to ensure its effectiveness and proper functioning.
The cable
The PROTHERM cable system no longer needs to connect back to the thermostat. A space for the return of the cable is no longer required due to a new technology. The circumference of the cable only varies between 1/8” to 1/6” (3 mm to 4 mm) which will not necessarily elevate the level of the floor. The spacing strips are now included in the kit.

Compared to previous generations this new cable holds three advantages:
- It is no longer necessary to connect the cable back to the thermostat
- The cables emit considerably less electromagnetic waves and are practically seamless once covered with flooring.
- Meets the new CSA security standards
Spacing strips
Entirely made of plastic, these new spacing trips with circular anchoring allow a safe installation of the cable.
Offered in 24 x 1’ unit packages that hooks into one another, which covers approximately 80 sq-ft. These are now included with the cables. However, for more complex installations, 24 linear feet packages are available.
- Resists to breaking when bended up to -25º C (-13º F)
- Does not damage the tubing of the cable upon installation, even when high pressure is exerted on the cable
- Quicker to install due to its increased flexibility, it can be glued without being held as the adhesive strengthens
- The installation of the cable can be quicker because the strip has more space between the sections and the cable is held back more easily.
Thermostat
Our programmable thermostat adapts easily to 120 V (1800 watts) and 240 V (3600 watts). This  new thermostat has an attractive design and back-lit screen as well as ameliorated pre-programmed settings.
With its two probes, it is possible to control the ambient air as well as floor air with the same thermostat. This high quality product is made in Canada and offers a three years warranty.
The use of the PROTHERM thermostat is required since it contains a GFI and is intended for the user to benefit from the most of the floor heating system. The utilization of another thermostat will cancel the warranty.
The probe is included with the thermostat. Offered in white and stainless steel finish.
For larger surface areas, we offer a master thermostat and relay configuration. This combination allows us to cover a very large surface area using a single thermostat.
